What is happening? First, plastic bags disappeared from the grocery store. I didn’t vote for that. Now I have to pay a dime to get the new and improved plastic bag or grapple with the free, handleless paper bags that rip too easily and always at the wrong time.

And where have all the straws gone? I don’t want my lips touching the rim of a glass that who know who last had it in their mouth. Sure, the water glass was washed, wasn’t it? Or did the lowliest paid person in the place, the dishwasher, hold it up to the light and, seeing no obvious stains, move it to the clean rack, as I saw hotel workers doing, having been caught on a hidden camera?

What is going on? What will be taken away from me next time?

And how did recreational pot get legal? I missed that decision-making meeting. It is not a good trade. Take the drugs back and give me back my plastic bags and straws. Please and thank you.
