In major election years, Cape Cod Grandmothers Against Gun Violence asks Massachusetts candidates running for national and local offices to respond to a questionnaire indicating their views on current gun issues that may become legislation or are currently in the legislative process either on a national or local level.

Cape Cod Grandmothers Against Gun Violence is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization founded after the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Our mission is to influence public policy creating an America free from gun violence, where our children and grandchildren are safe at school, at home and in their communities.

To this end we work to ensure the public is informed concerning the candidates’ positions so we can begin to elect candidates supporting common-sense gun laws.

This year’s survey contained six questions. Of the 23 surveys emailed, only seven candidates answered.

A complete list of questions and answers can be viewed at capecodgag.org.

We ask voters to consider voting for candidates who support common-sense gun laws. The gun violence problem has become an epidemic. We can influence an ongoing favorable outcome by the way we vote.
