SOUTH YARMOUTH - Elizabeth Ida (Vacca) FitzMaurice of South Yarmouth, formerly of Brockton, passed away October 12, 2018 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 84 years old. “Bette“ was the beloved wife of the late Wallace “Fitzy” FitzMaurice for 58 years and was a proud graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1951.

Bette is survived by her children, daughter Colleen and her husband Brian Langin of Uxbridge, daughter Susan of Milton, son Shawn and his wife Jennifer of Milton and her three grandchildren, granddaughter Devon Langin, and grandsons Brady Langin and Ryan FitzMaurice. She was the sister of Mary Infussi of Brockton, and the late Joseph Vacca of Brockton and Nellie Giardello of Cranston, RI. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews. Bette was a Brockton Public Schools Teacher’s Aide for many years and a proud and dedicated Boston Red Sox fanatic almost from birth. She enjoyed traveling to Aruba and Florida, spending time with her family and friends, especially afternoon Rummikub, bocce matches and golf with the Niners.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 16th, at Morris O’Connor, Blute Funeral Home, 58 Long Pond Drive, South Yarmouth, MA from 4-7 p.m. A funeral Mass will held on Wednesday, October 17th at St. Pius X Church, Station Ave., South Yarmouth, MA at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
