DENNISPORT - Robert A. Donnelly, 67, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2018 after recently dealing with a series of health issues.

Born in Yonkers, New York to James R. Donnelly and Evelyn (Stafford) Donnelly, Bob grew up in Pearl River, New York and graduated from Nanuet High School in 1969 where he was an outstanding scholar and a stand-out football player.

After graduating from Cornell University in 1973, he worked at a series of jobs in the hotel industry in New York, Philadelphia and Boston before moving to Cape Cod in the 1990s. He had recently retired from his position as Assistant Controller at Chatham Bars Inn. The family would like to acknowledge all of the kind folks at Chatham Bars Inn who continued to look in on Bob and lend him a hand.

He is survived by two sisters, Kathryn Donnelly of Armonk, NY and Nancy Donnelly-Malakhoff of Centerville; his favorite cousin Susan Domenick of Cotuit; his aunt and uncle - Pat and Artie Domenick of Tucson, Arizona; and his two nieces - Katrina Malakhoff of Santa Barbara, CA and Alexandra Malakhoff of Brooklyn, NY.

No one enjoyed a great book and a nice glass of red wine more than Bob. He combined both of his passions by creating lovely bookshelves out of old wine boxes. Bob's book collection was truly expansive and his knowledge even more so. He had a mind for trivia and beat jeopardy contestants to the answer nine times out of ten. Bob will be dearly missed.

A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, October 14 at Brewster Baptist Church, 1848 Main Street, Brewster, MA at 1pm.
