HARWICH - Steven P. Mott, 50 of E. Harwich passed away in Boston on Thursday, August 9, 2018 of a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Kara Brostek Mott for 15 years of the 23 years they were together.

Steven grew up in Ringwood, NJ, and he moved to the Cape permanently in 1990 after summering here for many years as a child with his family. It is here that he met his wife, Kara, in 1995 and where they married in 2003. They brought into the world and have been raising their 3 beautiful, amazing girls Molly, Sadie and Deitze who are their Daddy’s pride and joy.

He was very proud to be of service to the Nantucket community happy and eager to help them solve their pest control needs. He established lifetime friendships on the island that held a special place in his heart.

He was predeceased by his mother, Joanne B. (Keane) Mott. Survived by his wife and children, his father, Ted Mott, his brother Tim Mott & his wife, Katie of ID, his brother Jeff Mott & his wife, Leah of PA, his sister Kerry Marraffino & her husband Lenny of FL. His in-laws, Ed & Diane Brostek of NY and brother-in-law, Edward Brostek of Yarmouth. As well as his nieces Kaitlin Mott, Samantha Mott, Bella Marraffino, Lily Brostek and his only nephew, Lenny Marraffino. He was also known as Uncle Steve to many of their friends’ children. He was loved by many and will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 15th from 12 – 2 concluding with a service at 2 pm at Morris, O’Connor & Blute Funeral Home, 678 Main St. Harwich Center. Burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to his children’s education fund c/o Mott Kids’ College Fund at Cape Cod 5 Bank.
