HYANNIS - Redmond "Red" A. Bansfield, 66, of Hyannis, died Monday, November 13, 2017, at Cape Cod Hospital.

Born in Worcester to the late Francis and Elizabeth (Hoffer) Bansfield; Red was raised in Brookfield, and graduated in 1972 with a B.A. in English from UMASS/Amherst.

Red moved to the Cape 41 years ago, where he worked for M.D. Armstrong until its closing, then worked for the Village Green General Store in Eastham. After receiving his paralegal certification from Fisher College, he worked as a Title Examiner. He also worked at Guido's in Centerville before working for the Barnstable Land Trust as Property Manager for the last 17 years, recently receiving their Founder's Award. He loved Cape Cod and its history, and led nature and history walks for the Barnstable Land Trust.

Red is survived by his siblings: Kathleen Farina of Hyannis, Matthew Bansfield of Brookfield, Joseph Bansfield of Newburyport, Ellen Bansfield of Worcester and Elizabeth Bansfield-Mossa & her husband, Rev. Donald Mossa, of Ocala, FL. Also surviving are a niece and nephew.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, November 16th, from 4-7pm, in the Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main Street, Hyannis. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Friday, November 17th, at 10:00am, followed by interment in Oak Neck Cemetery, Oak Neck Rd, Hyannis.
