SANDWICH — A 25-year-old man was arrested and charged with driving drunk Wednesday morning after he crashed his vehicle head-on into a school bus on Pimlico Pond Road, according to Sandwich police.

At 8:40 a.m. police responded to the crash near the intersection of Pimlico Pond Road and Lighthouse Lane, according to a post on the Sandwich Police Department's Facebook page.

Kohle Kinsella, of Osterville, was arrested on charges of operating under the influence of alcohol, marked lanes violation and negligent operation of a motor vehicle, according to the post.

The bus was on its way to school at the time of the collision and had six students on board, the post says.

None of the children was injured, said Sandwich Public Schools Supt. Pamela Gould.

The children were moved to another bus and taken to school, she said.

The vehicle that hit the school bus swerved into the driver’s side of the bus before going airborne, she said.

Neither driver was injured, the Facebook post says.

The crash is under investigation by the Sandwich Police Department and Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office.
