FALMOUTH — A Falmouth man pleaded not guilty Wednesday in Falmouth District Court in connection with an assault during a drug transaction, according to court and police documents.
Robert Finney, 45, was released on $1,000 bail on the condition that he stay away from the victims, according to court documents.
On Oct. 12, Falmouth police were called to the Cumberland Farms on Teaticket Highway for an assault, according to a police report. Finney had since left the scene and was behind the nearby Stop & Shop, the report says.
Witnesses who had followed Finney told police that they saw him punch the driver of a vehicle then head-butt a woman at the Cumberland Farms, the report says.
Finney told police he was arguing with them because he had given them money for cocaine but none was supplied, according to the report. After the man grabbed Finney’s shirt, he said, he punched him but was not sure what happened to the woman, the report says.
Finney was summonsed to court on two counts of assault and battery, the police report says.
He is scheduled to return to court on Nov. 29.
