EASTHAM — Police continued to search Saturday morning for a 47-year-old man after he was reported missing Friday and possibly suffering from a medical condition, according to the police. Early Saturday, the police again searched the man’s residence on Hay Road and state police helped with an aerial search near the residence and in other areas. State Department of Conservation and Recreation staff helped in the search as well, but the man wasn’t found, the police said.
The aerial search was called off late Saturday morning, but local police continued looking and doing other investigative work to try to find the man.
A search on Friday in the area of Hay Road and Country Way involved several law enforcement and rescue agencies, aided by reports from citizens and local business people, but was called off at 9:30 p.m. because of darkness and other factors. The man had left his home about 24 hours before he was reported missing.
Police did not release the man’s name in a press release issued Saturday, at the request of the man’s family.
The missing man was described as 5 feet 9 inches, 150 pounds, wearing a dark T-shirt and beige or green shorts and sandals. He is possibly carrying a backpack. Anyone with information is asked to call Eastham police at 508-255-0551.
