BARNSTABLE — Two men accused of being involving with stealing a dump truck, a skid steer, a compressor and a motorcycle from a Hyannis business were indicted Wednesday by a Barnstable County grand jury.
Travis Husband, 46, and Michael Allen, 32, were indicted on two counts each of larceny of a motor vehicle, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, larceny of property worth more than $250, and receiving stolen property worth more than $250.
Barnstable police were called to Ron’s Truck Stop in October about the missing items. An employee said that he saw Husband and Allen pass by the business repeatedly in Husband’s dump truck, according to a police report.
A detective went to the Blue Rock Road address listed for Husband and saw a skid steer that matched the description of the one reported missing, the report says.
Police later pulled Husband over and he said he bought the skid steer for $5,000 from Allen, who worked at Ron’s Truck Stop, but couldn’t produce a bill of sale, the report says.
Police asked about the other items, and Husband allegedly said they were at his mother’s home. Officers went to the house and found a dump truck, compressor and motorcycle there, the report says.
Husband was charged with receiving stolen property, and other charges were pending, according to the police report.
