HARWICH — Part of Queen Anne Road near the Harwich Disposal Area has been reopened after a gas service rupture shut the road down earlier this morning, according to the Harwich Fire Department.

The road was closed after equipment used by subcontracted National Grid work crews struck and ruptured the gas service at about 8:24 a.m., according to the Harwich Police and Fire Departments. Access to the disposal area at 209 Queen Anne Road was blocked and traffic was diverted.

National Grid was on the scene to repair the rupture, and the road was reopened at 9:02 a.m., according to the fire department. No injuries were reported.
