(Feb. 15, 2018) Nantucket Cottage Hospital announced this week that with the completion of the new hospital building will come new leadership. Margot Hartmann, president and CEO, will step down from the job in August 2019.
The 18 months between now and then will allow Hartmann, 69, who was hired as a physician in 1999 and was named president and CEO in 2010, to continue to oversee the ongoing capital campaign, the remaining construction, and the opening phase of the new hospital, according to a press release.
“We are not quite done yet with some of the transformations, and there will always be more,” Hartmann said. “But I think the next president/ CEO will be able to walk in to a new and beautiful and very functional hospital, that will attract and retain staff and have the opportunity to have a housing configuration that will support our ability to hire and retain talent, as well as a relationship with Massachusetts General Hospital, and with Partners, that is evolving.”
