(Feb. 15, 2018) After a distinguished career of 47 years as the executive director of Nantucket ConservationFoundation, Jim Lentowski recently announced his plans to retire on July 3.

The date is meaningful to him for it is the anniversary date of when he started with the Foundation back in 1971.A national search has been engaged to recruit his successor.

“Jim has served as a community leader and catalyst for land stewardship on Nantucket and his legacy will provide for future generationsplaces to explore and experience the very special character of Nantucket Island,” said Arthur Gosnell, president of the Foundation’s board of trustees.
