BARNSTABLE — A West Yarmouth man pleaded not guilty Monday in Barnstable District Court to his third offense of operating under the influence of liquor, according to court documents.

Bernard Webb Jr., 54, also pleaded not guilty to charges of possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and an inspection sticker violation, documents show.

A Yarmouth police officer stopped the vehicle Webb was driving at around 8:20 p.m. Sunday because it had an expired inspection sticker, according to a police report. The officer noticed Webb smelled of alcohol, the report states. The officer administered field sobriety tests, and a preliminary breath test showed Webb had a blood alcohol content of 0.15 percent, almost twice the legal limit, according to the report.

Webb’s bail was set at $500, according to documents. He is scheduled to return to court for a pretrial hearing March 15.
