Capt. Elizabeth Stevenson, vice president of enrollment management and external affairs at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, is one of three honorees at this year's Leading Women Awards, hosted by the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts, according to a statement.

Stevenson, of Onset, is the president of the New England chapter of the Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association, the immediate past president and board chair for Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts, member of the Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School STEAM engineering advisory board and a member of U.S. Rep. William Keating's service academy nomination committee, according to the statement.

Each honoree will be introduced by a Girl Scout who has spent time getting to know the honoree in preparation for the ceremony. This tradition highlights how, for more than 100 years, Girl Scouts have been drawing inspiration from successful female leaders in their communities, including Girl Scout alumnae, business leaders and those who serve as troop volunteers, according to the statement.

Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts has honored more than 200 women with the Leading Women Award since its inception in 1992. This year's awards will be presented at a March 1 breakfast in Boston.
