The Chatham Fund of The Cape Cod Foundation recently awarded $30,000 in grants to 10 nonprofit organizations serving the town’s residents, according to a statement from the foundation.
The largest single award went to Monomoy Community Services, which received $8,700. The Family Pantry of Cape Cod received $5,000, Mass Audubon Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary received $3,000 and the Lower Cape Outreach Council received $2,500. Awards of $2,000 were presented to Chatham Marconi Maritime Center, Chatham Orpheum Theater, First Night Chatham, Homeless Prevention Council and Pleasant Bay Community Boating; and the Creative Arts Center received $800.

The Chatham Fund was established to build a permanent endowment for the town through private donations and to provide grants to nonprofit organizations that enhance the quality of life in the community. Since 2013, the Fund has invested $92,845 back into the Chatham community. Two other Cape towns have similar funds with the Foundation: Falmouth and Sandwich.
